About Us

The Howse brand began in Oxford in the 1930s when, as a thoroughly contemporary company, it installed state of the art plumbing for a number of the Oxford colleges. The company, now Sharp + Howse, continues to have a modern and forward thinking attitude whilst still valuing the traditional qualities of craftsmanship and exceptional service.

The Team

Peter
Haley

Operations Manager
Peter heads up the team from our Oxford base, with day to day responsibility for all aspects of the business. Beginning his Advanced Craft Heating apprenticeship in 1984, he has worked in the industry ever since. Having worked for a time in the property services sector Peter has experienced, and has a thorough knowledge of, all aspects of the industry.
With three children, the oldest about to set off for university, Peter is kept busy most days ferrying them from one activity to another. 

 

Matthew Skinner BSc

Estimator/Surveyor
Matt has 25 years’ experience in surveying, estimating and construction management. He enjoys the challenge of pricing work competitively, winning the contract, then watching the engineers translate lines on a screen into a working system for the client / the finished project.
Outside work a wife, six children and a dog keep Matt quite busy. If he’s not at home or in the garden he is probably wandering the Derbyshire Peak District. 

Daryl
John

Project Co-ordinator
Daryl has been part of the Sharp and Howse team since 1989, when he started a City and Guilds apprenticeship as a pipefitter. He has been in his current role since the beginning of 2016 and looks after the site labour, materials and on site sub-contractors. He is also involved in the day-to-day organisation of the Sharp and Howse service department.
Outside work Daryl plays in and manages a local football team and is a taxi for his three kids… they never tip!

Alexa Macarthur

Service Administrator
Alexa is the most recent addition to the Sharp and Howse team.  With a background in  letting management and property sales she appreciates the difficulties that can arise when heating and plumbing systems don't work as they should. With customer service high on her agenda, Alexa enjoys building client relationships and is  involved in developing  and administering the Sharp and Howse service department.
Being a mum, a triathlete and cycling to work daily keep Alexa quite busy.
